Coloring page Prompt Builder overview
The builder is divided into three main sections: Object, Style, and Parameters. Simply select your preferred options, and if desired, add custom objects, details, or colors in the text fields. Your prompt will be automatically built in the Result Prompt cell based on your selections.
With the PRO version, unlock endless prompt variations using the “Enhance with ChatGPT” button (learn more about “Enhance with ChatGPT” ). Additional dropdowns, like Style Details, as well as expanded Parameters, are exclusive to the PRO version. The default setting is pre-selected as “coloring page”. The Instructions and Visual Examples sheets offer everything you need to start creating and spark inspiration. Here, you can easily preview Preset outcomes and explore various Art Styles in a user-friendly format. The styles are grouped into three categories: cartoonish styles like Disney or cute kawaii, artist-inspired styles such as Glen Keane or Matt Groening, and broader art styles like 8-Bit Art or Steampunk. You’ll also find some starter prompts to help jumpstart your creative process.

While this guide focuses on Midjourney, we’ve also tested our Prompt Builders with other text-to-image AI generators, including Flux, DALL-E, Ideogram, and Leonardo (learn more about compatibility in our Q&A ). Here’s a quick overview of how the coloring page prompts perform on these platforms:
- Flux.1: A newer tool excelling in cartoon illustrations with clear contours and outlines. While coloring pages may not always be 100% consistent, it’s still worth experimenting with.
- DALL-E: An excellent choice for coloring pages, DALL-E interprets prompts accurately and produces crisp, clear designs with clean outlines and no pre-filled colors.
- Ideogram: Ideal for minimalistic designs with sharp, clear outlines. Its simplicity works well for clean coloring pages.
- Leonardo: A reliable free option, though results vary depending on the model chosen. Using the Phoenix model, we found reasonably consistent results for coloring pages.
Improving Results Across Platforms
For the best outcomes, we recommend using the "Enhance with ChatGPT" button (available in the PRO version). This feature generates more detailed prompts, improving compatibility with DALL-E, Ideogram, Leonardo, and Flux.1
